Downieville, CA

Downieville may best be know for its downhill race, but there are many more trails along the Yuba River that offer plenty of butt cheek clinching excitement.

The town itself is three blocks long and very laid back.

There is one bridge, and it is a single lane. Not much traffic.

The downhill starts high and drops over a thousand feet.

Sometimes you ride down the stream.

Sometimes you cross it.

Most of the trails are very narrow.

There are rocks.

Some rocks are rather large.

And, there are switchbacks to keep it interesting.

Should you get bored, rafting on the Yuba is available.

But the main draw is the super fast downhill.
